Things people ask us
Two to eight. Play everyone for themselves, or in teams of 2v2, 3v3 or 4v4. Bots can take any empty seat. With exactly two players, the voting games (BRO, WUT?! and Doodle Duel) sit out.
A PC hooked up to your TV or monitor, and one smartphone per player. The PC hosts the room over your Wi-Fi and the phones connect to it directly. The first time you play, Windows may ask you to allow UnBored on your private network. Say yes.
No. Phones play in the web browser (Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android), and your phone is the controller for everything, action games included. You can add UnBored to your home screen if you like.
Online matchmaking is coming, so you’ll be able to play with friends anywhere. It will also bring UnBored accounts, so you can save your characters and take them to any game.
PC first, on Steam. We hope to bring UnBored to consoles too.
UnBored is coming to Steam. We’ll announce the price and release date closer to launch.
One so far: a tropical island with a smoking volcano and a jungle temple to rob. More boards are planned, each with its own world and mission.
Your seat is saved. Open the page again (or rescan the QR code) and you’re back as the same player. If you drop out on your own turn, the game waits a short while for you. Then it plays your turn safely, without spending your items or coins.
You choose. Quick matches run 6 rounds and Full matches run 10. You can also set a time target (15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes) or play a Quick Party.
Before every match the organizer picks Family or Adult. Family mode uses family-friendly prompts, game names and character options, and it checks player names. Adult mode unlocks cheekier content. Everyone’s phone shows which mode the room is in.
Phones can give you 50% more time for typing and drawing, or hide the timer completely. You can also skip tutorials for games you already know, switch phone vibration on or off, and use voice input in Hot Seat where your phone supports it. The phone controller follows your device’s reduced-motion setting. If something gets in your way, tell us at hello@getunbored.com and we’ll look at it.
The game doesn’t need an account. Your name and character are saved on your own phone so you can rejoin quickly. See our Privacy Policy for the details.
